The NIKI offers a limited number of scholarships for PhD and postdoctoral researchers affiliated with universities in the Netherlands or abroad. The scholarship covers travel expenses, free accommodation at the institute, and a dedicated workspace in the library for a period of up to three months, with a minimum stay of six weeks.
For candidates from European universities, travel expenses are reimbursed up to €200 for flights and €500 for train travel (including one night in a hotel, if necessary). For candidates from non-European universities, the reimbursement is €700. Accommodation at the institute is mandatory, and travel expenses will be reimbursed upon submission of supporting documents.
Fellows are expected to devote their full time to the research project, to have no other obligations during the time of the fellowship and to present the results of their research at the end of their stay. to present the results of their research at the end of their stay.
